New Pool Startup

Start Your New Pool
the Right Way

A proper startup protects your plaster, extends equipment life, and sets the foundation for years of trouble-free swimming.

Why It Matters

Your New Pool Needs More Than Just Water

When a pool is freshly plastered, the surface is extremely vulnerable. The first 28 days are critical — improper startup can cause staining, scaling, rough spots, and void your plaster warranty.

Swift Blue Pools handles the entire startup process using the proven methods recommended by plaster manufacturers. We'll have your pool swim-ready and protected from day one.

After startup is complete, ask us about transitioning into one of our weekly maintenance plans to keep your investment protected all year long.

The Process

How Your Pool Startup Works

A straightforward 4-step process from your first call to your first swim.

1

Schedule & Coordinate

Contact us when your pool is nearing completion. We'll coordinate with your builder to be there on fill day.

2

Fill & Initial Chemistry

We monitor the fill process, test your source water, and begin establishing balanced water chemistry from the start.

3

Daily Brushing & Monitoring

For the first 10–14 days we brush the plaster and test water chemistry, making daily adjustments as the plaster cures.

4

Startup Complete — Enjoy!

After 28 days your pool is fully stabilized and ready. We'll hand you a complete report and recommend an ongoing service plan.

The Risks of DIY Startup

Don't Skip the Startup

Many new pool owners think they can handle startup themselves. Here's why that's a costly mistake.

Plaster Staining

Improper calcium hardness or pH during startup causes permanent staining and discoloration that's expensive to fix.

Equipment Damage

Running equipment before water chemistry is established can corrode metals and damage seals and O-rings.

Voided Warranty

Most plaster manufacturers require a professional startup. Skipping it can void your plaster warranty entirely.

Costly Repairs

Fixing plaster problems, scaling, or early equipment failure costs far more than a professional startup ever would.
